Chick and pullet batches

Start a batch the day chicks arrive. Give it a name you will say out loud, like "March chicks". Then talk to it like any house: "March chicks, fed half a bucket, lost one, brooder at 92, drank two gallons." For weights say "March chicks, weighed five, 2.8, 3.1, 2.9, 3 and 3.2."

When is a batch ready?

A batch shows "Ready to move to production" when it meets these. Leave weight at 0 if weight is not part of the decision. For "first egg required", enter 1 for yes or 0 for no.

Feed

Weigh one full bucket of each feed once. After that, "3.5 buckets" is turned into pounds for you.

Feed deliveries

Log a delivery when the supplier or formula changes, so lay rate can be compared before and after. You can also say it: "new pellet delivery from Smith today."

Reminder words

The line shown under the Talk button, to jog your memory before you speak. Put in whatever you want to remember to say. Leave it empty to hide it.

Breed standard

The breeder's expected lay rate by age, drawn on the "Lay rate by age" chart. One line per week of age: the week, a comma, then the percent. For example "30, 94".

Sites

Weather is pulled automatically for each site's map position. Add the leased pasture here when birds are on it.
